As a historian of society in the modern period, I work on the ordinary practices of doctors, focusing on written consultations, blood-letting and, more broadly, the choice and use of therapies.

Doctor-patient relationships are another part of my research, which focuses on the patient experience and the management of illness in the home and family.

Finally, I am also interested in the health professions in an urban environment over the long term, using the example of Charleville. This town was the subject of a major demographic survey between the 17th and 19th centuries (Carolopolitan Connections : Space, Population, Heritage - C2EP2 - an Emergence project of Sorbonne University 2019-2021 led by the Centre Roland Mousnier). The project will reconstruct the medical and therapeutic 'landscape' of the city and its suburbs over almost three centuries, while following all the individuals who were involved in the profession of healing.
